Chester shoppers picked up more than their weekly groceries as they were treated to exclusive festive food tasting events courtesy of their local Tesco stores.

The Tesco Chester store, on Frodsham Square, and the Tesco Sealand Road Store, on Hartford Way, hosted the tasting events as part of their commitment to supporting the local community and as a thank you to loyal customers.

The sessions, hosted by Tesco home economists, gave customers the chance to taste a selection of the Christmas range in store including Finest cheeses, cakes, mince pies, chocolates and chutneys.

Andrew Schofield, store manager at Tesco Chester, said: “We are very grateful to our loyal customers and we wanted to offer them an exclusive opportunity ahead of Christmas to really inspire them with easy and tasty festive food options.”

The events at both stores focused on the selection of winter treats, festive dinner party foods and delicious drinks that can easily be used in Christmas parties being hosted at home.

The Tesco Home Economists talked through how to prepare the ingredients before offering customers the opportunity to sample a section of the prepared treats.

Mark Lindley, store manager at Tesco Sealand Road, said: “We are incredibly proud of the fresh products and ranges that we stock in store so these events have been an ideal opportunity to highlight these and our wide variety of Finest Christmas products amongst our customers. Shopper feedback was extremely positive and hopefully they will have been inspired to try something different this season.”
