An independent Chester hair salon has been the exclusive session team styling the hair of the artists and performers backstage at V Festival 2015.
Stylists Jolene Wells, Damien Roberts, Siobhan Taylor, Chelsey Hope, Jemma Stenning and Michael John O Gorman from VAIN on Watergate Street and Gemma Amura from Paul Mitchell coloured and cut artists such as Tim Burgess from The Charlatans, Imelda May, Fuse ODG, Annie Mac, Scouting for Girls and the musicians touring with Hozier. It’s not the only festival the team from VAIN have worked at this year, others include Download, Wireless and Creamfields.
The salon has become a bit of a celebrity hotspot since opening in 2013. Pasha Kovalev from Strictly Come Dancing has popped in for a trim before his show. Legendary burlesque artist Sukki Singapora has her famous blue hair coloured and actors Claire E Cooper, Emmett J Scanlan, Stephanie Davis, Jennifer Metcalfe, Mandip Gil, Jorgie Porter and Kim Tiddy regularly visit the salon before photographic shoots.
Stylist Jemma Stenning of VAIN said: “There’s always such a buzz working backstage at festivals and we are so lucky to have such great clients coming in to the salon, famous or not.”
