CHESTER Rocks is music to the ears of families who can enjoy fairgound attractions and a free picnic zone.

The inaugural music festival is only two weeks away and organisers have released further details of the new two-day music festival.Š

Richard Thomas, chief executive of Chester Race Company commented; “Chester Rocks is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best family events in the North West, along with some of the biggest national, international and local artists there will be a host of family activities. Š

“Both days will include a fairground, adrenaline rides, bouncy castles, face painting, adventure climb and many more activities.Š

“We have a lot of experience in providing great family days out at the Roodee and we want to ensure that Chester Rocks becomes a similarly popular annual event.”Š

Chester Racecourse is also laying on a picnic zone for families to bring along their own food and drinks.

Mr Thomas added: “This is the first year of Chester Rocks for us and it is important that we listen to people’s feedback about the event.

“We have been advised by festival professionals and safety groups, that there should be a strict no food and drink policy in the main area.Š

“We are adhering to this advice and in order to ensure that the festival appeals to families of all ages we are creating a Picnic Zone on the open course so people will be able to have a picnic lunch at the racecourse before they enter the main festival area.”

Rob March, head of marketing and communications, added: “Chester Rocks is going to be a great event for all the family, we have already seen a huge interest in our Special Family offer which means that a family of four can save £50.Š

“We have also introduced a link to two of our most popular race meetings, anyone buying a Saturday Chester Rocks ticket before June 24 can claim a free Open Course ticket for Family Funday and anyone buying a Sunday Chester Rocks ticket can claim a free Dee Stand ticket for Saturday August 20.”
