Hundreds of people will descend on the city centre to pay their respects to the fallen on Remembrance Sunday (November 13).

Members of the public are welcome to attend a special service at Chester Cathedral at 10am, ahead of the laying of the wreaths and a two-minutes silence in the memorial garden at 11am.

Military personnel will then parade through the city streets to remember all those lost during conflict.

Traffic will be prohibited in areas from the morning into the early afternoon to facilitate the parade.

What will be closed and when?

Northgate Street will be closed from Princess Street to Eastgate Street from 8am to 12.30pm, and from Hunter Street to Princess Street from 11am to 12.30pm.

St Werburgh Street will be closed from Northgate Street to Eastgate Street from 8am to 12.30pm.

Eastgate Street will be closed from Northgate Street to Foregate Street from 8am to 12.30pm.

Foregate Street will be closed from Eastgate Street to Love Street from 8am to 12.30pm.

St John Street will be closed from Foregate Street to Little St John Street from 8am to 12.30pm.

Bridge Street will be closed from six metres north of Feathers Lane to Watergate Street from 8am to 12.30pm.

Watergate Street will be closed from Bridge Street to Nicholas Street from 8am to 12.30pm.

Princess Street from Northgate Street to the bus station from 11am to 12.30pm.

What about parking?

Parking will be suspended on the full length of St Werburgh Street from 5am to 12.30pm, and on Eastgate Street from St Werburgh Street to Foregate Street from 5am to 12.30pm.

Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the roads affected by closures and suspended parking will be maintained at all times.
