The delicious smell of honey coming from Honeybee House must have reached a certain bear who found his way to the building’s official opening.

He made lots of new friends at the grand opening of The Queen’s School’s new infant learning pod, called Honeybee House, on Liverpool Road in Chester.

After the party the bear explored the school grounds before officially opening the building with the cut of a ribbon.

Head of the lower school Rachel Cookson said: “We wanted someone very special to open our new classroom, someone with whom our pupils would connect and remember for a long, long time. I’m pleased to say that they all absolutely loved their party afternoon and the bear was the star of the show.

“Having been involved in the design, fitting and decoration of the classrooms, the girls are absolutely thrilled to have now moved in and to be now using all their new equipment and facilities.”
