WORK has begun on a bespoke play feature for Chester’s Grosvenor Park which is undergoing a £3.6 million Heritage Lottery scheme.

The ‘Park for People’ Restoration project involves the construction of a new Training and Events Pavilion, and restoration and extension of the Grade II listed Lodge to create a public cafe.

There will also be an enlarged play area with a greater offer of play facilities which will include a specially created play feature.

Artist Andrew Small has been commissioned to create the play feature and has held consultation and workshops with Blue Coat Primary School and the Catholic High School to allow the artist and pupils to create a locally distinctive element.

Work on the new play area will begin in the spring.
