Cheshire Police are appealing for football fans to help trace a player with links to Chester in connection with a conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Officers want to speak to Helio André, of London Road, Liverpool, who played as a forward for Rochdale in Football League One and also played for Burscough FC and Ashton Utd after a spell at Cammell Laird FC.

Police say the 21-year-old Angolan-born footballer has “strong links” to the Liverpool and Chester areas .

Detective Sergeant Ian Watson, of Cheshire Police , said: “My team is keen to speak to Helio and I would like to appeal to members of the public to help us to trace him. As well as links to Liverpool and Chester, he also has connections to Portsmouth, Holland and Angola.

"Helio is well known by many football supporters and I believe that they may be key in helping us to locate him."

André is described as black, approximately 5ft 7in tall, of proportionate build, with brown eyes and short black hair.

Anyone with information about the possible location of André is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 69 of 9/7/2014.
