If you have dreamed of joining an orchestra, now is your chance and you can do it right here in Chester.

Chester Sinfonia was founded about a year ago as a new chamber orchestra for the Chester district.

The orchestra enjoys playing symphonies by Mozart, Schubert and Mendelssohn, etc, which are suitable for its size.

The first concert was held earlier this year with the aim of raising money to send much needed instruments to the Baghdad School of Music.

Thanks to the generosity of the audience and soloists some instruments have already been sent with more to follow.

The orchestra would love to welcome new string players, especially upper strings, and are already planning another concert to include music by Mozart and Bizet.

Rehearsals are once a fortnight in Barrow and details can be found on the website chester-sinfonia.webnode.com
