A Chester community radio station is staging a music festival with camping over the bank holiday weekend.

The Flipside Campout will take place at Kings Acre Farm in Saughall on Sunday and Monday, August 28 and 29.

The festival aims to promote local music and raise funds for Flipside Radio – a community-based and volunteer-led radio station in Chester.

American-born singer, songwriter, musician and artist Jeb Loy Nicholls will headline a stellar bill of local and national artists. Huw Costin, from notable UK group Torn Sail will also be performing.

Joining them on the bill will be some of the most talented musicians and bands in Chester and North Wales.

These include Jon Coley and The Raincloud Men, Campfire Social, Texas Banjo Massacre, The Daymons, Carl Foukes-Jones, The Revolutionary Spirit, David Burton, Peter Douglas and Kindest of Thieves.

Complementing the musicians will be a host of DJs playing a sunshine selection of folk, rock, jazz, world and balearic for the perfect summer soundtrack.

DJs playing at the event are Chris Maude, Dr Sid, Rope DJs, Ole Smokey, Lee Ellis, Someperson, Charlie B, Chris Sutton and Alex Arditti.

As well as great music and art, festival-goers can expect a family friendly environment and a relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting that features a waterfront bar on a pond that has boats and fishing rods provided.

There will be a Kids Art Space where they can get creative and people from Upcycle Bee Creative will be helping them make art from recycled junk.

There will also be a diverse mix of local independent stalls including Glitterbugz body art, Hush Vintage with a dress up photo booth for the kids, Becnicks Wonder Emporium, Henna by Angela, Cyprium Jewellery, Upcycle Bee Creative and The Mini Makery.

For the meat eaters Bunny BBQ will be serving up locally sourced top quality burgers and hot dogs and Satsuma Pop Up Bistro will be offering a vegetarian and vegan barbecue.

There will be real ale and ciders from Spitting Feathers and Azulito Coffee will be providing proper quality coffee served from an Italian APE cart.

The festival runs over two days and for those camping, Bunny Chow BBQ and Azulito will be doing a balearic breakfast on Monday morning sound-tracked by DJs Lee Ellis and Ole Smokey.
