Chester MP Stephen Mosley celebrated the breaking of the Ramadan fast as he hosted an after-sunset Iftar supper.

He was joined by North West MEP Sajjad Karim and members of the Shah Jalal Mosque in Blacon, to celebrate the event.

Members of Chester’s Muslim community joined Stephen and Saj at the Chester Tandoori restaurant on Brook Street for the traditional post sunset dinner to discuss the work of the Muslim community in Chester.

Mr Mosley said: “It was a fantastic evening and it was great to hear of the important contribution Chester’s Muslim community makes.

“Chester is full of people from different walks of life and different cultures and the Iftar supper was a fine example of this.

“It was a hugely enjoyable evening and hopefully a new tradition can start here in our city.”
