A man who was killed after being struck by a train south of Shotton last week has been named.
Philip Edward Davies died of multiple injuries after being struck by the Arriva 19.21 eastbound service from Holyhead to Birmingham International on Wednesday night (February 3).
The 35-year-old gas and electric engineer of Lyndon Avenue, Chester was pronounced dead at the scene just before 10pm, an inquest in Ruthin today heard.
The incident took place near the town’s low-level station.

Passengers were delayed for two hours as emergency services worked to clear the scene.
North Wales Central coroner John Gittins said a file is currently being prepared by British Transport Police.
A post mortem examination carried out #at Wrexham Maelor Hospital gave a cause of death as multiple injuries due to a collision with a train.
The inquest has been adjourned for a date yet to be fixed.
