A MAN accused of exposing himself to four young girls faces a trial.

Andrew Bradshaw, 44, of Hoole Way, Chester, pleaded not guilty at West Cheshire magistrates to two offences of intentionally exposing his genitals during separate incidents at Ellesmere Port on August 28.

An order was placed preventing the identification of the alleged victims when Bradshaw appeared via video link from Blacon Custody Suite.

The court heard that during the first incident, at 4.45pm, two 13-year-old girls were playing near their home when they noticed a small light-coloured Ford Fiesta van parked close to where they were sitting with both driver and passenger windows down.

The court heard both girls felt uncomfortable and decided to leave the location but both saw inside the vehicle as they walked past and reported seeing Bradshaw performing a sex act on himself.

A second alleged incident happened just short of an hour later at 5.40pm when two young females aged nine and 11 were playing in their garden who saw a small light-coloured van parked just four to five feet away.

The van drove off when another car pulled up next to it but returned to the same spot a short time later. The girls could see into the vehicle and again both claimed to have spotted the defendant performing a sex act on himself.

A police investigation identified Bradshaw as a suspect and a search warrant was executed at his home address. The defendant was later picked out by two of the witnesses.

Bradshaw elected to be tried before magistrates on October 31 in a case to be heard by District Judge Nicholas Sanders during a day-long hearing.

Bradshaw was remanded in custody until Friday (September 21) when his bail situation will be re-examined.
