CHESTER Lions Club is gearing up for a motorcycle extravaganza in Chester later this year.

The club will join forces with Goldwing North Wales on Saturday, April 21 to celebrate Honda’s touring motorbike and raise funds for Save the Family.

During the day, there will be static displays throughout the city followed by an evening parade of lit bikes starting from Chester Castle car park at about 8.15pm.

Leading the parade will be Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Eleanor Johnson, who has described the event as a fitting end to her year in office.

Lion Peter Upton said: “The route has yet to be finalised but it will end on Eastgate Street where the bikes will be judged and awards presented.”

The first Honda Goldwing was introduced in 1974 at the Cologne Motor Show and between 50 and 150 bikes are expected to take part in the Chester event.

Chester Lions Club is seeking sponsors for the event. If you are interested in getting involved contact Peter Upton on 01244 350903 or 07818 068088.
