A charity ball organised by a Chester law firm raised the magnificent sum of £7,000 for two great causes.

The Fusion Ball was a spectacular black tie charity event which took place at Inglewood Manor to raise money for Women v Cancer and Claire House Children’s Hospice and was organised by leading regional law firm Aaron and Partners.

Guests enjoyed a drinks reception and four course dinner and were entertained with live music and a charity auction.

Sought-after auction prizes included a weekend in Tenerife, a motorcycle training day, a tour of Goodison Park and a host of fine dining and pampering experiences.

Local businesses attending the ball included Aaron and Partners, Handelsbanken, Smith and Williamson Accountants, Roften Galvanising, Bill Smith Motors and Champion Accountants.

CEO of Claire House Children’s Hospice, David Pastor, said: “Not only was it an amazing night, it was also a wonderful opportunity to thank each and every person in the room – through their support, they have helped a child with a serious or terminal illness live life to the full.

“Right now, we know that for every child we are able to help, there is one that goes without and demand for our services is continuing to rise. These vital funds will make sure Claire House can reach out to even more children both now and in the future.”

Head of employment law at Aaron and Partners, Helen Watson, said: “This was the third annual Aaron and Partners LLP ball I have hosted for Claire House and Women v Cancer and I was absolutely delighted with the turn out and support.

“As chair of Claire House Children’s Hospice, it is a local charity dear to my heart and I know how much money the charity needs to provide vital care and support to sick children and their families.

“They do an amazing job and I am very pleased with the money raised for this fantastic cause.

“Women v Cancer is my second charity, having lost one of my very best friends to cervical cancer four years ago. Since that time I have done many crazy challenges like cycling across India and running the London Marathon twice and I am pleased that we could also offer this very worthwhile charity our support in preparation for my next big challenge, which is the Vietnam to Cambodia cycle next November.

“I fully intend to raise more money during the course of the next 12 months with various other charity events in support of my chosen charities but this recent event sponsored by Aaron and Partners LLP has set the ball rolling and I can’t thank everyone enough for their overwhelming support.”
