A CHESTER school achieved the top spot in a national code breaker challenge.

King’s School students achieved joint first place in the National Cipher Challenge, a code-breaking competition organised by University of Southampton.

Over 1,000 schools were involved.

The school’s team – called Cryptokings – consists of Tsubasa Sato, Jun Kawakami, Matt Ireland, Tom Marquis, James Carr, Will Moreland Sean and Jeremy Telford.

Maths teacher Sioned Roberts said: “The students worked well as a team in order to achieve this great result.”
