An Italian family are hoping their authentic and stylish food will prove a hit with customers in their new Chester restaurant.

The Sciarrillo family who are from Flintshire but originate from Naples, have recently taken over the former Bellyfull Carribbean restaurant on City Road, to open The Yard, a traditional Italian eatery with a modern twist.

Their locally sourced food is freshly prepared by their head chef who has previously worked with Gordon Ramsay and Paul Heathcote MBE.

The Sciarrillos pride themselves on producing traditional Italian food and drink favourites and giving them a modern twist by creating a new and inventive dining experience.

Owner Ettorino Sciarrillo told The Chronicle: "We want to bring modern Italian food to the heart of Chester. Our menu is full of exhilirating dishes that will get your taste buds tingling, such as our chef's own creation Gorgonzola souffle with spinach and mustard butter and roast rump of lamb with pea risotto to name just a few.

"All of our ingredients are sourced locally from the Chester area, thus creating a relationship with local suppliers and we are able to strive for the best quality to pass onto our customers," he added.

The restaurant's unusual name was coined from the way a family member would work long hours in the back yard.
