The outgoing president of Chester Inner Wheel has handed over her chain of office.

Nova Haddock handed over to Nadine Morris, who will preside over the club’s 70th year, at an event at Mercure Abbot’s Well Hotel.

Nadine was president before in 1997/8, moved away to Ilkley and was President of Inner Wheel there, and has now returned to Chester ready to take over again.

Nova also presented a cheque for £1,755 to Joe Millett of Chester Motor Neurone Disease Association, her chosen charity for her year.

In addition, a recent coffee morning raised £300 for the Nepal Disaster fund, which was given to Rosalie Shaw from Save the Children.

Nadine’s charity will be the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, and two events are already planned: a cake bake at the Mercure in September, with proceeds split between a breast cancer charity and the hospice, and a Christmas concert at Eccleston Church in December.

Nadine has an interesting variety of speakers lined up for the club’s dinner meetings, which are held at the Abbot’s Well Hotel on the second Monday of each month, except August.
