CHESTER’S Household Waste Recycling Centre is to benefit from refurbishment works to modify and improve the facility for visitors.

The works will see the installation of a new 40 cubic yard skip which will allow the centre to increase the number of small electrical items that it can hold and recycle, with changes also being made to the road layout to help traffic flow during busy periods.

Taking place during April and May, access will be restricted for visitors at times throughout the improvement period, although the HWRC is only likely to be fully closed for two days.

The closest alternative HWRC is located at Garth Road, Ellesmere Port. Locations of all HWRCs within the borough, including site directions and opening times, can be found on the council’s website www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.

Executive member for community and environment, Cllr Lynn Riley, said: “The council is committed to providing our residents with good quality services and whilst I ask people to bear with us whilst these works are carried out I have no doubt that the results will make visiting Chester HWRC a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.”
