A Chester hotel is on the market for the first time in 25 years.

The 4-star Hamilton Court Guest House in Hoole is for sale with specialist business property advisor Christie & Co after owners Vivian and Ann Finan have taken the decision to retire.

The double-fronted, three-storey property, on Hamilton Street, has 11 letting bedrooms, and the business also features a restaurant and bar on the ground floor.

The current owners, Viv and Ann Finan have owned the guest house for 25 years, and they have now taken the decision to retire.

RELATED STORY:

Vivian said: “We took over the Hamilton Court in February 1991. Back then there were 14 rooms but only three were en-suite and over the years, we converted all the rooms to en-suite accommodation.

“The Hamilton Court is located in a beautiful village with plenty of amenities and is in a brilliant location just off the main road, which means there is no traffic noise. We have loved every minute at the Hamilton Court but now feel that it is time to retire as we are both in our seventies and wish to do more travelling.”

Business agent at Christie & Co’s Manchester office Tom O’Malley is handling the sale.

He said: “Due to the business being situated in Chester and being within easy reach of Manchester and Liverpool, the guest house attracts a high level of tourism all year round. The infamous landmarks, architecture and heritage of Chester welcome many domestic and international visitors to the area on a regular basis, which obviously drives traffic to hotels, guest houses, bars and restaurants.

“Businesses and properties like this rarely come to the market in Chester, simply because the area is just so popular. Opportunities to buy established and highly-rated guest houses and hotels are becoming less common in this area, and given that the Hamilton Court also has the added potential of redevelopment for residential use, we expect to see plenty of interest.”

The freehold property is on the market with an asking price of £795,000.
