Cheshire West and Chester Fairtrade Steering Group and CDEC Developing Global Learning have been celebrating National Chocolate Week.

Fairtrade company Divine Chocolate has a six week campaign to launch their new Divine Chocolate Tasting Set and the groups held a tasting at Wesley Church Centre.

CDEC – Developing Global Learning and Cheshire West and Chester Fairtrade Steering Group were invited as one of Divine’s special partners to take part in their six week campaign.

Divine is the only Fairtrade chocolate company which is 44% owned by cocoa farmers.

Fairtrade ensures farmers receive a better deal for their cocoa and additional income to invest in their community.

Company ownership gives farmers a share of Divine’s profits and a stronger voice in the cocoa industry.

Director of CDEC and a member of the Cheshire West and Chester Fairtrade Steering Group, Heather Swainston, said: “We’ll be encouraging as many chocolate lovers as possible to #TasteDivine.”
