REHEARSALS have started in earnest for Chester group Soundwall’s first Christmas single, Christmas Bells Still Ringing.
The song has been written by 18-year-old band member Johnny B and funds from the sale of the single and the next Soundwall concert, at Alexander’s Jazz Bar on November 11, will raise money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
Soundwall were one of the Chester acts chosen to perform at the Chester Lions Extravaganza concert at Eaton Hall earlier this month.
Soundwall vocalist and committee leader Becci Hall said: “The performance at Eaton Hall was a real highlight for us. Our hard work really paid off thanks to the dedication of our band members and fans.”
Soundwall, comprising 16 professional, semi-pro and amateur musicians of all ages, perform arrangements of chart, popular classics and classical music. Founded in 2011 by director of music Catherine Harrison, they have gathered a significant following in Chester and surrounding areas, and raised large sums for charity.
