AS WELL as watching professional chefs cook gourmet meals at this year’s Giant Chester Food, Drink & Lifestyle Festival, visitors will also have the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade with a new culinary attraction Cook Along With Brian Mellor.

Brian, who is an award-winning Master Chef of Great Britain, former head chef at the BBC and executive chef at Granada TV, will be exclusively bringing his cookery school to the festival to teach adults how to create a number of mouth-watering dishes.

Brian’s successful cookery school is set in Harthill. It is here that he teaches dozens of food lovers every week how to cook delicious meals, bake fresh bread as well as learning a valuable life skill in a fun and informative way.

For £25, which also includes entry to the festival, festival goers will learn how to prepare and cook a menu put together by Brian.

And after the hard work is done, the budding chefs can taste the fruits of their labour and eat what they have cooked.

Brian has a wealth of experience in the catering industry and has been involved in almost everything to do with food from cooking privately for celebrities and royalty to overseeing dozens of chefs in busy restaurants.

Festival chairman Jane Mooney said: “We are hugely excited to be welcoming Brian and his cookery school to the festival.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for adults to learn how to cook by one of the great British masters.

“The dishes he has put together for the menu encapsulate everything that is great about Cheshire but with a modern twist, he has made sure they appeal to all pallets.”

There will be two sessions running on each day of the festival (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) – the first at noon and the second at 2.30pm. Sessions can be pre-booked by calling festival co-ordinator Kelly Lynch on 01244 405 615.
