A TAXI company, a garage and a cattery from Chester have beaten off a host of other businesses to be honoured for their outstanding customer service in a nationwide awards scheme.
The Swift Awards are recognising ‘unsung’ businesses in every major city in the UK, which deliver the quickest, most reliable and best value service.Š
Five businesses from Chester have been chosen following a rigorous judging review, which assessed a shortlist of more than 50 businesses across the city. The tough criteria investigated how each business sets prices, resolves complaints, retains loyal customers and exceeds expectations.Š
The 2008 Chester winners are: Mews Cattery – Sealand; Brewery Motors – Farndon; The Storrar Practice – Tarvin Road; KingKabs – Bridge Street; Manor Garage - Hoole.
The winners automatically become members of an elite group of businesses from more than 30 UK cities that have achieved Swift Award winning status. They will enjoy various privileges such as an entry in a 24 hour business directory detailing best value businesses in their area; the right to display the coveted Swift Award window sticker together with a winners’ listing on www.swiftrelief.co.uk
Tina Shortle, marketing director of online insurance company, swiftcover.com, which sponsors the awards, said: “It’s not often that you hear of a cattery or a taxi company winning a business award – but uncovering hidden gems is what the Swift Awards are all about.”
“As people are becoming more and more exasperated by poor customer service, finding businesses which put the customer first are becoming more sought after and valued.Š
“We want to find those businesses and their owners who are quietly ‘getting on with the job’ of providing great customer service, but would not ordinarily be recognised for their business success. Our judges were inspired by the dedication and enthusiasm of all of our winners, who frequently exceed the call of duty.”
