Chester and Ellesmere Port train lines affected by Merseyrail disruption

Merseyrail services to and from Chester and Ellesmere Port have been disrupted this morning after a vehicle hit a railway bridge.

The Chester and Ellesmere Port line is blocked following reports of the vehicle striking the bridge between Rock Ferry and Green Lane, and delays are expected until 11.15am.

A statement from Merseyrail said: "Train services between Chester and Chester via Liverpool Central Wirral may be terminated at and started back from Rock Ferry. Network Rail Engineers are expected on site."
