Yesterday, Sunday, June 22, saw 26 teams compete in what was the largest dragon boat event in the North West this year.

The event which took place at Sandy Lane, Huntington saw huge crowds attend to enjoy the racing in the sunshine.

Most teams were first timers at dragon boating, but all had what it took to ... Race the Dragon in Chester.

Using four dragon boats, racing in a two-on-two format (two dragon boat racing whilst the other two boats load the next race), each team raced three timed during the day.

All the teams involved were raising money for a charity of their choice.

There were some great heat times and the overall winners on the day were the High Access team from High Access Maintenance Limited who were supporting the Brainwave charity.

The event was attended by special guests, Lord Mayor of Chester, Bob Rudd and Lady Mayoress, Mrs Sandra Rudd.
