THE colleague team at Chester and District Housing Trust has chosen Chester-based organisation The Bren Project as its sponsored charity for 2013 and 2014.

The Hoole-based small charity, which provides supported work experience placements for people with learning disabilities and autism, has worked with more than 100 people since beginning work in 2007.

It provides one-to-one support for people in a range of workplaces and colleagues at the Housing Trust got to know the Bren Project when they hosted a placement for Upton resident Tim Lee.

Tim undertook a placement in the finance office and was delighted when he was subsequently offered paid work by the trust.

Peter Sackett, The Bren Project charity manager, said: “We are delighted we have been chosen as the colleague charity by CDHT. They are a great organisation and they worked really well with Tim while he was on placement.

“We are looking forward to building our partnership and getting involved in lots of events over the next two years.”
