A CHESTER criminal has been fined twice in the space of two months.

Jamie Lloyd, 25, was spotted by plain clothes officers going equipped to steal on August 19 in the Garden Quarter area of the city.

Lloyd was arrested and after admitting the offence in Chester Magistrates Court, was fined £150 plus £85 costs and a £15 victim’s surcharge.

In the early hours of September 26, plain clothes officers again spotted Lloyd in the Garden Quarter area.

This time, Lloyd assaulted a police constable and was arrested and charged for acting suspiciously, as well as being refused bail.

Lloyd appeared the following day in Chester Magistrates Court, where he admitted the assault.

He was fined £74 and ordered to pay £50 compensation, as well as £85 court costs and a £15 victim’s surcharge.

A spokesperson for the Chester Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Police will continue to pursue and robustly target those that persistently cause problems in our community and bring them before the courts.”
