High winds and heavy rain have struck the region for the second time this month.

Flooding on River Lane in Saltney last night caused traffic delays, with the area still flooded this morning.

A Cheshire West and Chester Council  (CWaC) spokesperson said the flooding on River Lane is expected to recede today.

Other areas affected by flooding were the A534 near Broxton and the Bolesworth  Estate in Dragon Hall.

All were made passable with care by CWaC area highways teams using flood boards and amber warning lights.

There are no road closures in operation but motorists are advised to drive carefully.
