Chester Cathedral was the setting for a mega Zumba class on Friday night to raise funds for Children in Need.

More than 500 people, dressed in brightly coloured clothes took part in the two-hour Zumbathon fitness class, combining Latin and international dance music, to raise £6,000 for the BBC charity.

Organiser Rev Helena Roulston, who is also a Zumba instructor, said; “The money raised will go a long way to support BBC Children in Need projects all over the country, including one very close to home- Claire House Children’s Hospice on the Wirral. We think it is the first time a Zumbathon has been held in a cathedral.”
