A businesswoman from Chester has posed naked for a cancer charity calendar.

Jayne O’Gorman, director of Azure Collection, volunteered in memory of her mum who died from cancer.

The ‘Have You Got The Bottle To Beat Cancer’ charity calendar has been organised by her friend John McGowan from Prestatyn.

Jayne said: “It was definitely a daunting experience because I’ve never done anything like this before.

“The next step is for everyone to see it which I’m a bit nervous about.

“Only some family and friends from work have seen them so far, but they have all been so supportive and it is a very important cause.”

The project will raise MacMillan Cancer Support and for St Kentigern Hospice in St Asaph, North Wales.

Jayne met forces veteran and auctioneer John, 44, at a charity ball she organises every year as part of her own fundraising efforts.

The father-of-four was recently diagnosed with cancer himself and has set about raising money and increasing awareness, including running the London Marathon dressed as a car.

John said: “It means a lot to me Jayne and the other volunteers wanted to help with the calendar.

“We wanted to break the taboo around cancer and do something a bit different.

“We have volunteers who have had a range of experiences, whether they have suffered cancer themselves or know a friend or relative who has.”

Each of the 12 volunteers including Jayne and John have been pictured with just a bottle to protect their modesty.

Jayne’s photo was taken at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester on the night of her charity ball in June.

She said: “It was key for me the pictures were done tastefully in the right way.

“But I wanted to help Jon because everyone experiences cancer in a different way and this was his way of coping.

“He is such an inspiration, he is always positive and that’s another reason why I wanted to get involved.”

After eights months in the making, a launch party is being hosted at The Kinmel Hotel near Rhyl on November 13.
