A Chester businessman has joined the SnowCruiters to take on a charity fundraising challenge.

Matt Burton, CEO of recruitment company MB Group, will be teaming up with Tristan Ramus, Stephen Rundell and Tom Coulter and flying out to Klosters in January to take part in the Skiing With Heroes Business Challenge 2016.

Skiing With Heroes is a UK-based charity that supports wounded ex-Iraq and Afghanistan soldiers through a specially designed ski-based development, mentoring and job-finding programme.

The charity, which is now entering its fourth year, is hosting The Business Challenge 2016 which will see four teams of people from the business world take on a demanding, adrenaline fuelled competitive event.

Conceived as a way to raise awareness and engage the business community with wounded veterans, The Business Challenge creates strong links with potential employers whilst providing an opportunity for teamwork and personal development for all participants.

Ski challenge

The SnowCruiters will be tested against other corporate teams during a ski marathon and slalom, as well as a race against teams consisting for former veterans and those who have progressed to Paralympic glory.

Mr Burton and his fellow SnowCruiter teammates are hoping to fundraise as much as possible for Skiing For Heroes – with an impressive target of £9,000 – while increasing awareness and support for the charity.

As a prominent leader within the recruitment sector, Mr Burton, who is also a board member of The InvestR Group, is delighted to be part of such an important cause.

He said: “I and my fellow colleagues from the recruitment sector are excited and daunted in equal measure about the challenge ahead.

“However, the significance of the cause cannot be underestimated and we feel privileged to be asked to support those men and women who have been wounded in action to enter the business world with confidence.

Skiing For Heroes

“Through the excellent mentoring programme organised by Skiing For Heroes, these brave ex-soldiers will be supported into new roles in which they can excel long into the future.

“We have set ourselves an incredible challenge of raising £9,000 but with the support of our family, friends and the community I hope we will achieve our goal.”
