A CHESTER-BASED social enterprise has been awarded the coveted Investors in People accreditation.

Vision Support Trading Ltd was given the award for its commitment to continually improving business performance through its people and the Two Ticks award for its commitment to being positive about disability.

Chester MP Stephen Mosley presented the company with both awards when he visited the company.

Vision Support Trading Ltd (VST) is the trading arm of the charity Vision Support, which helps people with a visual impairment in North Wales and Cheshire areas.

VST were assisted in achieving this award by Chester-based Eclipse Executive, their human resources advisors.

VST also recently became a Two Ticks employer for its commitment to being positive about disability. Anyone with a recognised disability applying for a position at VST who meets the minimum requirements will be guaranteed an interview. Colin Billingsley and Chris Whitley from JobCentrePlus also attended the event.

For over a decade VST has converted documents to large print, Braille and audio for a variety of blue chip clients, including Royal Bank of Scotland Group, NPower and Co-operative Financial Services.
