Residents across Cheshire West and Chester are being asked if they would like to donate items which will be sent, in January, to our Armed Forces serving overseas.

Collection points have been set up at Chester’s HQ and The Forum, Ellesmere Port’s Civic Offices and Wyvern House in Winsford.

Cheshire West and Chester Council Chairman, Councillor Jill Houlbrook, who is also the Community Covenant Champion, said: “Boxes are being sent abroad by the Support Our Soldiers charity and there are many items which can be included to thank and boost the morale of our Armed Forces.”

“The donations can be everyday items ranging from lip salve to crisps, small tins of fruit, socks, puzzle books and sun screen, for example. The Council will be accepting items at the four centres, until January 13th.”

“At this time of year especially, it will be wonderful to show our service personnel just how much we care.”
