Communities across West Cheshire have secured £200,000 funding, to assist in delivering community projects within Cheshire West and Chester.
The money, awarded by WREN’s FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to enhance three rural communities and will also aid a city centre renovation.
The grants will assist in helping to support and deliver community projects, making a huge difference to neighbourhoods.
A not-for-profit organisation, WREN awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the UK from funds donated by FCC Environment to the Landfill Communities Fund.

The four communities have received £50,000 each in funding from WREN, these are:
Pulford Community Playing Field, which secured funding for play area enhancements including purchase and installation of play equipment, planting and access improvements.
Kingsley Playing Field Enhancements secured funds towards playing field improvements, which include a new pathway, access improvements and the provision of an outdoor gym.
Tarvin Community Centre Improvements received a grant towards internal remodelling works to create a better meeting space and Chester Quaker Meeting House towards internal refurbishment works.

Cllr Louise Gittins, Cabinet member for culture, leisure and wellbeing, said: “It is fantastic that WREN has awarded four of our communities grant funding to assist in delivering local projects. I am really looking forward to see how these projects are taking shape over the next few months.”
