Taylor Wimpey North West has made a £500 contribution to mark the launch of the Cheshire-based book Village at War.

The funds were used to fund the book launch at a special launch event which took place in Coddington.

Author Mike Royden said: “Village at War offers a comprehensive study of the Home Front during the First World War from a local and national perspective, plus a complete collection of soldiers’ biographies from three Cheshire war memorials.

“The book also contains contributions from residents who have researched the men of Coddington village, the extended family of Gauterin and Clubbe, and accounts of visitors to the battlefields of Belgium and France, in the quest to track down the resting places of local soldiers.”

The homebuilder has recently opened its exclusive Wellington Green development in Farndon and the team was keen to get involved in helping such an important piece of local and national history.

Stuart Craig, sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “It’s such an honour to be invited to support such a wonderful project that has taken years to get to the finish line.

“As a responsible homebuilder, committed to supporting the causes close to the hearts of the communities in which we build, we are only too happy to support Mike and the team and look forward to seeing the finished book on the shelves.”

As well as supporting the Village at War launch, Taylor Wimpey has most recently teamed up with Farndon Primary School for its 2016 harvest festival celebrations.

The school received a cash boost of £200 towards the activity, which was in aid of raising valuable funds for The Farndon Foodbank.
