Flower arrangers are used to being surrounded by many different colours but the one which was a favourite with a successful Cheshire team was gold.

That was the colour of the award which was won by the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies Cheshire area publicity team at the Arley Garden Festival in Northwich.

The display consisted of an exhibit entitled Art in the Garden as well as a hands-on section led by area junior liaison of Upton Flower Club Sally Melvin.

The team, led by NAFAS area demonstrator Pat Murphy, included Christine Middleton of Disley and District Flower club, Louise Jones of New Brighton Flower Club and Catherine Bower of Lymm Floral Art Group.

Publicity team officer for Cheshire area of NAFAS Christ Middleton said: “The response from the public has been so enthusiastic, with many enjoying the opportunity to have a go at floral art. We received many enquiries about the location of flower clubs from this new venture.”
