Missing teenager Jade Lynch has been found safe and well in Wigan.

The 14-year-old schoolgirl, who was originally from Warrington , vanished 11 days ago after telling relatives she was meeting someone in St Helens, in Merseyside.

Cheshire Police last night (April 6) confirmed that she was found in Wigan on Wednesday evening and is being returned to a place of safety.

Detective Superintendent Jon Betts thanked the public for providing information which helped to locate her.

He said: “I’m pleased to announce that Jade was located safe and well in the Wigan area of Greater Manchester at approximately 9.30pm today, Wednesday 6th April.

“Now that we have located Jade we are currently in the process of returning her to a place of safety. We will continue to work with our partners to support Jade and her family over the coming days.

“I would like to take this as an opportunity to say a huge thank you to the media and to the public for all of the information and support that you have provided, which has proved vital in our investigation to locate Jade.”
