The woman stabbed to death on an estate in North Wales has been named locally as Tyler Denton who worked at Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port.

The former Rhyl High School pupil died following an attack which left three other people seriously injured late on Saturday night on the Llys Aderyn Du estate in the town.

Miss Denton, believed to be 23 and a mother of two children, played for Kinmel Bay Ladies FC, and worked at the Cheshire Oaks retail park.

On Kinmel Bay Ladies FC's Facebook page, a post in tribute to Miss Denton was left. It said: “This is a heartbreaking post to write. From everyone at Kinmel Bay FC, you have our most heartfelt condolences and prayers, so sorry for your loss.

“Our love and thoughts are with you all... Rest in peace, that big smile will be missed.”

The three other people who were injured are understood to remain in hospital.

Neighbours reported hearing the sounds of a disturbance just before midnight on Saturday, and hearing screams in the street.

One described seeing a car pull into the estate and a man jump out and begin to grapple with another man already on the scene.

Two women and one man are among the others injured in the attack. Police have said their injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Llys Aderyn Du has been sealed off since the attack, which is believed to have started in a house before spilling out into the cul-de-sac.

A 21-year-old man who was arrested after the attack remains in police custody. Detectives are treating the killing of Miss Denton as murder.

Last night, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Harison said: “A man remains in police custody and is being interviewed and we can confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.

“I fully understand the concerns of the community and would like to thank them for all their patience and support whilst these enquires are ongoing.

“This is a tragic incident where a young female has sadly lost her life and a number of other people have received serious injuries.”
