A firm with a flagship store on Cheshire Oaks has bucked the trend and cooked up a strong increase in sales.

Gloucestershire-based specialist cookware company Procook, which has a shop on the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet, posted an increase of 14% in like-for-like store sales and an increase in online sales of 26% between October and December, traditionally its biggest trading quarter.

The results are said to be even more impressive given a recent national survey which reported an increase in non-food sales for the same period of just 0.6%. The quarter includes the Black Friday, Christmas and the post-Christmas sale periods.

The award-winning company, which originally began as a small, family-run business, says that assisted by the delay of the Christmas sales to Boxing Day, profits also increased helped along by the design, development and introduction of new products.

Steve Sanders, chief executive officer at ProCook, said: “So much hard work has gone into delivering a strong sales performance across the shops and internet and it’s great to see that we’ve been able to meet these record levels of demand.”
