More than 90 children aged 5-14 achieved gradings success at the World Ju-jitsu Federation GB headquarters in Cheshire.
Children from clubs in Bunbury, Frodsham, Lymm, Rudheath and Shrewsbury took part in gradings which saw some children achieving their first belt in ju-jitsu while others achieved black belt success, or even tab awards, showing skills beyond the minimum and junior black belt.
Sensei Andy Travis, who runs the Bunbury, Frodsham and Lymn clubs and is senior instructor at Rudheath and Shrewsbury, said: “We are immensely proud of all our students and their achievements. It is wonderful to see our children grow in confidence and ability as they develop the techniques of this brilliant martial art. It’s great to know they will be better able to protect themselves too.”
Cheshire Budo Federation has been running for more than 40 years under Sensei David Flaherty MBE and continues to grow and develop as a club, having just run training at the international congress in Rome, with the recent development of kid’s academy days.
Sensei Andy continued: “Anyone can have a go at this great martial art and the achievements are obvious from the many successes today.”
