Two burglars were jailed over a string of raids in Cheshire.

John Joseph Khan, 43, and Lee Parry, 41, struck in the Chester, Tarvin and Northwich areas in May and June, raiding homes and taking anything of value they came across.

Laptops, jewellery and expensive watches were among items stolen.

Khan, of Chatsworth Drive, Edge Hill, Liverpool, was sentenced to a total of three years at Chester Crown Court after admitting two counts of burglary.

Parry, of Smithdown Road, Wavertree, also Liverpool, was sentenced to four years after admitting four counts of burglary.

Detective Constable Nigel Moore, of Cheshire police, said: “This has been a detailed and highly complicated investigation conducted by Cheshire Constabulary. These individuals travelled to isolated rural locations in the Chester and Northwich areas intent on committing burglaries during daylight hours.

“Cheshire police will continue to proactively pursue any travelling criminals before the courts.”

He added: “This result can give some comfort to anyone who has been affected by this type of crime.”
