CHESHIRE Carers Centre is staging an open day and afternoon tea in support of this year’s Carers Week.

The event will be held on Tuesday, and offers an opportunity for carers to meet each other.

Centre staff will be available to provide information, advice and support and a Pension Service adviser will be on hand to answer benefit queries.

Laura Holden of Cheshire Carers Centre said: “Many people with caring roles don’t even recognise themselves as carers.

“This has a real and negative impact on their health, finances, working and social life and general wellbeing.

“Our open day is one of many activities and services that Cheshire Carers Centre provides to support carers who feel isolated.”

Carers Week, which runs from Monday until Sunday, June 19, highlights the vital contribution made by carers to their families and communities in providing unpaid care for ill, frail or disabled people.

This year’s Carers Week is supported by celebrities with caring experience, including Dame Judi Dench and Sir David Jason.

The open day and afternoon tea will take place at Cheshire Carers Centre, London Road, Northwich, from 1-4pm.
