Members of the Cestrian Motoring Enthusiast Club enjoyed a Classic Car rally around historic south Wirral churches recently, as part of the Heritage Day Ride and Stride.

The Rev Stephen Southgate led the way, in his 1968 Morris Minor Convertible, from Capenhurst’s Victorian Holy Trinity Church, on a clockwise route, finishing at the 13th century Church of Saint Oswald in Backford.

Other cars included an E-type Jaguar and a Triumph Dolomite, driven by two parishioners, and a number of open-top MGs.

After the warm and enthusiastic welcome they received, plans are already in place for a similar event next year.
