A doctors surgery has celebrated the life of a well known city doctor.

Northgate Village Surgery in the Fountains Health Centre in Delamere Street showed their appreciation and respect for the late Doctor Ron McClure who had been a GP in Chester since 1962.

Dr McClure passed away in March, aged 88, after a long illness.

Dr Ron, as he was affectionately known, retired in 1992 after 42 years service in the NHS.

His wife Dr Liz McClure unveiled a photograph of two great crested grebes which she had taken during their first RSPB birding holiday abroad and also a photograph of Dr Ron with a short tribute.

A number of patients, staff and the Patient Participation Group attended the moving ceremony.
