SHOPPERS were treated to a surprise of biblical proportions in Chester on Sunday.

The cast of Tip Top Productions’s Jesus Christ Superstar took part in a flash mob at the Cross. The routine included numbers from the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice hit show.

Director Rob Stevens said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to get involved in something really amazing. We knew that it would be a fun to try an all-singing, all-dancing flash mob in the heart of the city but couldn’t believe the amazing response our cast got from the Sunday shoppers.
