This picture shows all that remained of a car which burst into flames on the M56 .

Fortunately all of the occupants were accounted for and there were no injuries.

The vehicle was left burnt out by the side of the motorway at junction 10 westbound on December 8.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze just before 5pm.

Two engines were sent out to the scene.

But there was not much left of the car once the fire had been put out as it sat between the slip road and the M56.

Police closed the slip road and the inside lane while the incident was dealt with which caused delays for drivers heading towards Chester.
