Cannabis and cash were seized as Operation Impact hit hard in Neston .

Addresses in the town were descended on as officers carried out drugs raids on Thursday (July 28).

Two men, both 32, and a woman, 29, were arrested.

Cheshire Police said they had recovered a ‘large quantity’ of cannabis along with a quantity of cash.

In response to the warrants the force said there would be an increased police presence in the town to ‘reassure’ the community.

The total of four raids were carried out at addresses on Ringway, Stanton Court and two homes on Shakespeare Road.

One man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

The other was taken into custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Both of them have been bailed, but must report back to police on October 28.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of production of a controlled Class B drug. She was later issued with an adult caution.

Ellesmere Port and Neston LPU chief inspector Sarah Pengelly said: “The corrosive effect that drug abuse and associated criminality has on our communities is well known.

“We are committed to tackling the problem and targeting those involved.

“Operation Impact reinforces our commitment targeting those people who undermine our communities and bring misery to residents through their involvement in organised crime and illegal drugs.

“Following the warrants there will be an increased police presence in the Neston area to reassure local residents.”

Cheshire Police said information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug-related crime.
