SEVERAL sporting and musical goods, including a signed Pele football Shirt, will be sold in aid of the woman's cancer unit at Warrington Hospital.

The items will be sold at an all-ticket gala charity auction held at the Hanover International Hotel and Club, Stretton, on Friday, May 7.

Included in the price of the £30 ticket is a four-course dinner, live music, a fun money casino and a raffle with several prizes that include a weeks holiday in the South of France.

Auction items set for sale alongside Pele's shirt include several signed photographs of sports personalities from the world of football, rugby, boxing, Formula 1, cricket, horse racing and athletics.

Highlights include shirts signed by David Beckham and George Best plus framed and signed photographs of Jonny Wilkinson, Mohammad Ali, Michael Schumacher and Sir Steven Redgrave.

Photographs of musical celebrities including Eric Clapton, Robbie Williams, Mick Jagger and Madonna have also been offered for sale.

Mr McConnell said: 'Thanks to the support by Sporting Icons of Chester we have a vast array of memorabilia on offer to bidders who, by buying items of their heroes, are supporting the women's cancer unit at Warrington Hospital.

'It is our aim to raise as much money as possible for this crucial and worthwhile cause.'

Mr McConnell will also be accepting advance postal bids for all auction items and a full list of winners will be given after the event.
