An Ellesmere Port family is desperately hoping their ‘wonderful’ cat Garfield returns home to them safe and sound after being missing for almost a month.

Search parties have been conducted, strangers have offered up their time to look and hundreds of leaflets have been handed out, but sadly there is still no sign of seven-year-old Garfield.

Now his owner Michaela Pickersgill is appealing to readers of The Pioneer to help bring him home.

The much-loved family pet, who has been chipped, went missing from Livingstone Road between 10.30am and 2pm on October 9.

“Garfield is so much a part of our family and we miss him terribly,” said Michaela.

“He is such a timid boy and has the most wonderful, gentle nature.

“He means everything, he and his feline and canine brothers and sisters have got me through such a horrendous three years.

“I just want my boy back.”

A £250 reward is now being offered in the effort to find Garfield.

If anyone has seen him or has any information about his whereabouts, please contact Michaela via the Facebook page she has set up called Find My Garfield .
