MEMBERS of the Cambrian Community Association are preparing to open their gardens to the public on Saturday.

Residents living in the city’s Garden Quarter, which includes Cambrian View, Gladstone Road and Granville Road, will open their gardens, large or small, for the community to come and view and meet their neighbours.

From the grandest display of summer blooms to the prettiest patio pots, all things horticultural will be on show.

As well as the gardens, there will be a variety of other attractions such as cream teas, homemade chutney, cakes and other baked goods, plants, games for the children and a ‘help yourself’ table of unwanted items.

Committee member Catherine Jones said: “This is a really exciting way to bring the community together to share our gardens and homemade produce.”

Chairman of the association, Roy Hughes, indicated that this event is likely to be a precursor for a new and exciting Cambrian Community Association Food Festival next year.

THE gardens are open from 2-5pm and tickets for £1 (including a map) are available on the day from Belmont, 32 Cambrian View.
